A Wine Pull to raise funds for a cure of Nonketotic Hyperglycinemia

On October 15th from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the Weymouth Knights of Columbus there is an event to raise funds to help find a cure for Nonketotic Hyperglycinemia (NKH), a rare, genetic, metabolic disorder caused by a defect in the enzyme system that breaks down the amino acid glycine, resulting in an accumulation of glycine in the body’s tissues and fluids. It typically presents in the first week of birth. NKH occurs in 1 in 76,000 births and can occur in individuals of any ancestry.

Thirty bottles of Southern Italian wines have been donated to the fundraiser to be included in a wine pull; everyone who purchases a chance wins a bottle of wine.
