Manet Community Health Center serving patients of the South Shore and Southern Massachusetts is celebrating its 45th year with a “June Bloom” fundraiser on June 6th at the Shields Science Center Atrium at Stonehill College in Easton, MA. One of the features of the fundraiser is a Wine and Extra Virgin Olive Oil (“EVOO”) pull in which an attendee donates $25 to make a “blind pull” of a bottle of a red, white or sparkling wine or a bottle/tin of EVOO. All the wines in included in the “Pull” are produced throughout Italy with a majority of the wines from Southern Italy. The EVOO included in the “Pull” are produced only in Southern Italy. Both the wine and EVOO are produced in an eco-friendly manner; all are sustainable, most are organic in the vineyard/grove, some are natural (no additives, including no sulfites are added), some are low intervention, only small amounts of sulfites added at bottling. Here are photos with a notation of which Regions the EVOO and wine are produced.
Participants in the “Pull” will receive will receive a bottle/tin of EVOO from one of these producers. There will be 30 “Pull” chances available – all participants will receive a bottle/tin of EVOO. The producers from left to right are from the following Regions, respectively: Abruzzo, Calabria, Basilicata, Puglia and Campania.
The red wines in the above photo are from the Campania Region. All the the wines in the top row (except for the one on the far right) are from Irpinia producers. Irpinia is part of the Province of Avellino. The wine at the far right of the top row along with all the wines on the bottom row are from the Provinces of Salerno and Caserta. Note the wines 4,5 and 6 from the left are Amalfi Coast wines.
The red wines in the above photo are from throughout Southern Italy including the following Regions: Sicily, Calabria, Basilicata, Puglia and Molise.
The red wines in the above photo are from the following Northern Regions of Italy: Piemonte, Toscano, Veneto, Emilia Romagna and Marche.
